We have listed several of the most common timeclaims that a member may have and have included sample claim language for those claims. You may see the sample language by clicking the green plus icon next to the claim you would like to see.

Note: The provided sample claim language is just a basic template. You will more than likely have to alter the language to fit your particular circumstance.

Automatic Markup Agreement If called in violation of this agreement claim a 130 mile basic day account violation of the Automatic Mark Up Agreement dated March 4, 2005.  Print a translog of the call time and add to claim for documentation.  Be as detailed as specific as you can.
Bereavement Leave

Bereavement leave, not in excess of three calendar days, following the date of death will be allowed in case of death of an employee’s brother, sister, parent, child, spouse or spouse’s parent.  In such cases a minimum basic day's pay at the rate of the last service rendered will be allowed for the number of working days lost during bereavement leave.  Employees involved will make provision for taking leave with their supervising officials in the usual manner. Article C-4, Article 12 July 26, 1978 National Agreement

Claim: Fax obituary with copy of the Non Service Claim to UP Timekeeping at 8-997-2125. List your name, EID number and claim number. Claim 3 days bereavement leave. On the claim, list relationship. Allowed are the following: brother, sister, mother, father, child, spouse, spouse's parent, half-brother, and half-sister. On claim list: relationship, date and time notice was faxed.

Critical Incident - Peer Support

Yard or local service - one day’s earnings.
Road - one round trip. Allowed 1 to 3 days off.
Must be authorized by Company officer.

Claim lost earnings for {either one day or one trip} account of being off for peer support account of critical incident while working the {train/job ID} on {date}.  Authorized by {Name of Manager}.
